Wedding in Homestead in Miami, FL

Golden Hour BRIDE and Groom Photos

I met Jeanelle and Andy 2+ years ago when he got down on one knee and proposed! I then captured their engagement photos and, finally, had the honor of being part of their big wedding celebration where they said “I do” in front of their entire families. Having been a part of such key moments in their lives is one of the reasons why I enjoy my job so much.

On their big day, the emotions were at an all-time HIGH! Everyone was so excited to see these two tie the knot and party all night long. As I took some photos of the bride, I heard rumbling outside and made eye contact with her mom… We both realized it started pouring. Of course we tried our best to not worry Jeanelle and keep the day flowing as it should, but as we approached the time of the ceremony, it was time for her to make a final call – proceed with the ceremony outside while it was still raining or bring the ceremony inside. She had dreamed of getting married outside with all the greenery that Spur of the Moment Ranch in Homestead has to offer, but she kept thinking of how her guests would be getting rained on if she opted for an outdoor ceremony. Although not an easy decision, she made the final call of bringing everything back inside. As the vendors worked to bring in the floral arrangements and move the chairs, all of a sudden, the rain lightened to a slight sprinkle.. The bride, her mom and I couldn’t believe it was happening – after pouring for what felt like an hours,, the rain stopped and the sun came back out again. Thankfully, there was still enough time to take everything back out and continue with the outdoor ceremony Jeanelle had dreamed about for years!

Mother nature came to save the day and, before we knew it, Jeanelle was walking down the aisle to meet Andy! There was SO much love that radiated, not only from them, but from their family members too – during the ceremony, their immediate family members partook in a warming of the rings tradition where they each held the wedding bands and offered their well wishes for their marriage.

After the ceremony, we took gorgeous photos of them with their families and bridal party and caught golden hour JUST in time for photos of the bride and groom. We continued celebrating with an iconic first dance with these two and, after the DJ played a few songs, Jeanelle and her wedding planner hurried to the bridal suite for a surprise no one (not even Andy) was expecting.. Instead of the typical dress change, Jeanelle decided to spice it up and had Amanda, her wedding planner, chop her hair!!! Everyone was floored when Jeanelle came back out to the dance floor and it truly was one of the highlights of the day!

I loved capturing J+A’s special day and I hope these wedding photos live forever in their families and that they can look back on them 45+ years from now and reminisce on how amazing their celebration of love was.

All the hurdles and situations they’ve overcome together are a huge testament to their strong love for one another and their desire to grow old together.

All this to say, it was ALL worth it! They are now expecting their baby girl in a few months and could not be more excited!! They so badly wanted their maternity photos to represent the love they have for each other but also for their daughter – take a look at their gallery for a peak of the whimsical and magical vibes we captured!
